the darknessWe start off in the dark. In warm, wet, pulsating dark with only the sounds of our mothers breathing and her heart beating. It’s not a frightening place, quite to the contrary, it’s comforting. And then we’re wrenched out of our safe warm haven and pulled, screaming, into the bright world that we’ve never had mind to see before. Everyone around us is smiling but we’re not, we’re confused and weak, unwashed and frightened.
