unfinishedThe woman traced her fragile reflection in the mirror. The reflective glass felt cool and even underneath her warm, old fingers. Nothing was like this moment, she thought smiling to herself slightly, nothing was like waking up one morning and realizing that everything that had ever happened to you, everything that would happen to you, was over.  
Mostly over, she amended, pulling her hand away again and frowning. Her face had become worn, weathered, deep wrinkles pulling at the corners of her mouth and eyes, her forehead was a crumpled mass of pale warm skin that she had watched for years slowly transform. fevers   I tried to sit up but a hand on my shoulder restrained me from doing so. My vision swirled around me and I closed my eyes, hoping to allow the room around me to settle. "You're lucky," a familiar voice said, strangely accented, it pulled away at odd points in the words. "We weren't sure for a while, if you would rejoin us."     "Shana," I said, naming her without having to think on it. I heard her laugh, my eyes still closed.

Positivity   My hands shook as I tore open the envelope, it had been so long since I had received a real letter. This digital age had taken us all rather quickly and now the only notice I ever got from friends or family members was through email or facebook or one of those other useless things that only reduces us to user names and a few paragraphs. I had long boycotted the internet entirely on principal only to finally be broken down by the lack of communication that I had with those 'closest' to me. marching band is over......

yep, the season is done. we've gotten straight A's and a first division ranking at MSBOA, and marched are final game.
Yesterday was the last game and it rained, so we didn't march woodwinds out (which includes me), we marched without our instruments and had drumline, pit and brass play. the field was awful, really muddy with tiny craters from the feet of the football players, but it didnt go terribly, and now im sad that it's all over. i liked marching band, a lot more than i realized.


-sigh- oh well.


in other news, the reason why i havent been on much, is about my computer. it has died, yes you heard me correctly, it's gone. my dad won a laptop at this red wings dinner thing, and now we have that, which is actually pretty nice (although it doesn't have much under the hood, but that's okay). and now that i have no marching band excuse i should be submitting more. hopefully.
